Hello: I have been having issues with my speedometer not showing the correct speed, I drove the truck on a trip a couple weeks ago and it all of suddenly pegged and started making noise occasionally and jumps up and down at times, I would like to pull it out and get it rebuilt is there any one who could suggest a shop that works on these speedometers that could rebuilt it for me.
Thank You!!
Mark
Are you sure it is the gauge and not the speedo cable?
If the cable needs lube it can hang up and then release and make the gauge freak and jump up high then back down over and over.
I dont know of anyone that dose that.
What you may want to try is getting one off Ebay and swapping your mileage to it.
Also try Hemmings Motor News as I am sure they would list a place that dose this type of work on older gauges.
Keep us posted what you find.

I have a 1985 f250 4wd i am on my second speedo drive gear. i will be replacing it for the second time in as many years. this time i intend to replace the cable as well. i think drag from the worn out cable is causing accelerated gear ware. hope this helps.
Appreciate the responses, mine is a 4x4 as well, I decided to get a new cable and see what happens, the noise I'm getting is from the speedometer its a whining noise that comes and goes, I will post back what happens after I install the new cable.
if yours is like mine it has a borg warner 1345 transfer case. sounds like your speedo has had the previous owner might have used the wrong lubricant at the speedo. i use dry graphite. it dosent attract dust. hope this helps.
