Ok guys. Thought I would share in case anyone else has this code while trying to "change" their existing code, or, just have issues loading a tune.
This is what happened. I have an existing performance tune in my truck from 5 Star and when I tried to change to a heavy tow tune, I got the error code at the end of the session. I emailed 5 Star and we checked voltages. Those were good, so 5 Star advised me to call SCT which is the manufacturer of the tuning module. I called them and played some phone tag until I got to a tech. This was the fix:
1.) Register your module on SCT's website.
2.) Plug the tuner in and return the truck to stock mode if it's possible.
3.) Went in the house to access my PC. While tech was on the phone with me, he remoted into my PC and upgraded the software on my module (again, you need to register your module on their website in order for him to do this task as he needs to know the SN).
4.) Plug the module back into the truck and load the desired tune.
This was my fix. The Tech was extremely helpful and patient. He was on the phone with me through this whole process except when I registered my module. It took a little over an hour. We had some slow downs on the software that was needed to remote into my PC, but it wasn't terrible. Patients is definitely a must. Their number for tech support is 407-774- 2447. If its been more than 6 months since you used your module, there's a good chance it needs a SW upgrade. They do not allow you to load the SW yourself. They advise doing it (remotely) which is fine w/me.
A big shout out to 5 Star and SCT for all the help.
Curious how do you like it? Does it improve the transmission shift points and drivability? Not really looking for more power but better driving around unloaded. thanks

Absolutely love it. No more skipping gear shifts in any mode. Not much of a power increase that I have noticed. But some. I mainly bought it for other parameter adjustments. In Eco mode, the throttle response is much lighter and smoother shift points. Very cool. I will be using the heavy tow tune next Wednesday when we pull our 5th wheel to Kansas Speedway. Can hardly wait! 5 Star is highly recommended for sure. They have a wide variety of tunes for the 7.3 gaser. I need to have them load a REV limiter now. I'd like the truck to shift at 4000 R's. That seems to be the sweet spot.
I too love the 5 STAR tune, made the truck much more responsive and shift points working "better", probably because the power coming on earlier & it does have a noticeable increase in power... I also had a great costumer experience as they also helped me install the tune...
