My buddy has a 2013 F150 Ecoboost, it's got to where even with it idling it feels almost like it's misfiring at times and has poor throttle response. It hasn't got a CEL on, so I plugged my scanner in and ran IDS on it. Only thing showing is u2101:00-0a. Anyone got any ideas about this?
I don't remember it saying what module it came from. Not sure if I missed it, but all I know is the truck isn't running well at times but it never set off the CEL. Ran a misfire test on it as well but it didn't show any.
I wonder why that code didn't show up in the dtc list on the Ford disc I have, hmm.
It's probably in the WSM, you just have to know which section to look in. That's why I asked about the origin module.
It appears that code is caused by an incomplete PMI process or corrupted programmed module configuration. If the OP has both an IDS system and access to Ford's as-built data, I'd suggest re-doing the PMI for all modules (after saving first, of course) and see if this side issue resolves. It would also be helpful to know if the owner has done any recent modifications or repairs to the truck that should have included PMI procedures or reprogramming of any the various sub-systems.
However, it's unlikely that the U-code has anything to do with the reported drivability concern. Suggest separating the two symptoms in the thought process.
I have access to IDS, no mods have been done to the truck recently. I just got IDS back up and running so I'm relearning where things are. What was the wms?
