Looking to see what year, make, and model of other vehicles have a metal battery tray...like the one on the passenger side...for the driver side that will bolt up. I've been looking for the ones out of the OBS in wrecking yards with no success. This would be for the newer 99-03 style Superduty with the 7.3L to replace the covered plastic unit. I know the oem plastic unit can be cut down to work...I may do that on one truck...but wanting to keep one intact on the shelf...
I've been using a passenger side tray I got from a pick-n-save. It fits and it works, just that the hold down is on the back side of the battery.
If I had known Riffraff had a better option, I likely would have gone with that. It's not the first time I've done something only to find out later riffraff has it.
One of these days I'm going to have to go through their entire 7.3 relevant inventory and fully flesh out the wish list.
I have a 2022 F250 SD 6.2L Gas V8 and I also want to add a second battery to the driver side under the hood. Wouldn't it be NICE if Ford was forward thinking enough to design such a part and make it available?

I need to look at my batteries at the base to see how that might work. So did that tray arrangement cause any issues with the battery +- posts and/or cables being in the original configuration?
The Battery bases have all been symmetrical, meaning I've had no issues. Orientation remains unchanged.
I didn't even drill any new holes.
The little J-nuts were already there from the plastic box. I don't recall using any additional hardware, but it has been a while since then (2014).
I'm thinking all batteries have the same bases on both sides...meaning they can be mounted and/or bolted down either front (side with the +- posts) or back (side opposite the +- posts)...
