gave up my reservation
Ford may be looking to refill their pockets for heavy startup costs. I wonder how the real pricing will be for all manufacturers once Ram, Chevy, Ford, Rivian, and Tesla have been on the ground for a while. Are they all going to be well above ICE trucks or comparable? The next 2 or 3 years will be interesting.
I don't keep up with EV sales and/or pricing but if the competition isn't following Ford's pricing as of late they'll fare far better. Ford might be one of the most favored brands but I'm sure a person's finances will be the biggest decision factor.
In this particular incident perhaps the original dealership was still able to make a sale but ultimately Ford lost a sale. In other cases a similarly disappointed or angry buy would search competitor brands, the sale once again eluding Ford the company.
It could be Ford is seeking to reload its finances but trying to do so in the short term with substantial unexpected price hikes isn't the way to do it, IMHO anyway.

Yep, gave up my res on it as well, same for the Rivian and the eSilverado. The only one I hold now is the Ram. Will it stand the process from res to purchase? That's up to them.
Thing I find ironically retarded is Ford CEO Farley warning Tesla about how it's brand could "become a commodity" after Ford jacking up it's prices beyond the "Every man" price point ....WTF?!?!?!?!?!? What an arrogant POS! https://electrek.co/2023/04/28/ford-...v-commodities/
Smells like envy if you ask me, Teslas been doing it for over a decade. I bet Musk got a good laugh from that.

It’s a shame that Ford jacked up their pricing like they did. I would likely be driving a Lightning today if they didn’t, but find myself in a Model Y instead. I still have a reservation for the Silverado, but doubt I’ll follow through after buying the Tesla.
This makes sense to me. Tesla was an aspirational brand because of their pricing and limited availability, which is a place all mainstream automakers try to be. Luxury automakers make far more profit per sale than mainstream brands, so they continually try to move upmarket to increase margins. Tesla is doing the opposite by waging thermonuclear price wars against everyone else. And with their economies of scale, they can afford to do what everyone else can’t. Tesla will lose their exclusivity and pricing power, but it will come at the expense of everyone else’s ability to turn a profit on their cars.
The competition is vicious, and I’m all here for it. 😎

I still might park a Cybertruck in my driveway.
I've had a Pro on fleet order since Jan 2022 and looking to cancel as well. Dealer is frustrated and has no idea if it will be built or not. Has yet to be scheduled so who knows. I now need a truck for my fleet yesterday so looking at dealer stock or ordering a tundra that I can get in 90 days. I was willing to give an EV a shot and was happy it was to be a Ford but that is over at this point. We are supposed to be going green per our policy but if you can't get what you need in a timely manner, screw it, I'm burning dinosaurs. I have work to do.
