Power Steering Gearbox

I need a power steering gearbox for my ‘71. I’ve order 3 online and had issues with all 3. Anyone have a used one or know what I can get a new one that is actually the right one?

Redhead steering, if they don't have it, they'll rebuild your original better than new. I put power steering in mine and used one from a 70' works well.

I am about $200 in on my EPAS in my 72 f250 4x4. Although using it in a 2wd is a whole new can of worms to be getting into. I have a f350 parts truck with PS but I have no idea what shape it is in. Im in Nevada and Im sure it is the same unit as in my 70 f250. Redhead doesnt advertise it on there site but they sell the parts to rebuild them or atleast they did sell me a couple seals that I needed for my 72 f250 4wd manual steering gear. I ended up e-mailing them as a last ditch effort and they got right back to me so I got the parts coming.

Another recommendation for Redhead. Works great.

When you buy a "rebuilt" steering gear from an auto parts store, what you are actually buying is a resealed gearbox.

Ford didn't install bearings for the sector shaft, it rides directly on the housing. Red Head takes the housing, machines it to add the bearings that Ford omitted, so they could sell a gazillion seal kits.
