Nice looking truck. I used to have a similar Palomino pop-up for my truck. It was so light and low-profile, you barely knew it was back there when driving. Didn't like the lack of storage or the canvas sides, though. I was always worried some animal would chew through in search of food when the camper was left unattended. Here's our setup for the last 15 years, been all over the Northwest with it:

There's one pitfall of having an older truck and camper: Lots of homeless in my neck of the woods have newer RVs. Been thinking of a bumper sticker on the back: NOT Homeless - Do Not Tow.

Forgot to mention something if you go with that low voltage disconnect. It's only rated for 10 amps max, and a 12V fridge will draw up to 18 amps. You have to add a relay to handle the higher amperage. The disconnect module controls the relay, which in turn controls the heavier current to the fridge. If you decide to install one, let us know and I can draw you a simple wiring diagram.

I poked around a bit for other brands of low voltage disconnects. Lots of stuff out there, especially for sailboats with a bank of batteries. I came across this brand rated for 20 or 30 amps continuous, depending which model you choose. No external relay would be required, with only three wires to connect:

Edit: At the link above, some of their models have adjustable cut in/out points. That would be a really slick feature so you could fine tune the performance.

Thanks!!, I'm going to order that unit in the 20amp, I like the idea of only three wires, your truck is nice as well, I see you put mud flaps on it, that was the first thing I did to my truck when I purchased it really saved the paint over the years. You rarely see this model of truck on the road in very good shape especially in 4WD, at times I wish I had purchased the extra cab and the HD model in the XLT (Mines an XL and under 8,500) it would have been nice to have more room , AC and heavier rear springs (Going to purchase springs next year), but when I purchased the truck I was single no family and the most important things to me were rear slider, intermittent wipers and skid plates, I purchased the three skid plates from the ford dealer later. My truck was purchased from Cal Worthington Ford Dealership in Anchorage Alaska for 12k , I purchased it for 10.5k in Seattle from the original owner in 1989 it had 40,000 miles on it, at the time I said I didn't want to spend that much money again (Haven't times changed) so took really good care of it, never been in an accident except for a deer that ran out in front of me in Idaho, made countless hunting fishing and camping trips to Washington, Idaho, Oregon, Montana, Wyoming and Canada. Thanks everyone for the responses here I've learned something about electrical that will be really helpful.
