I just picked up a 97 f250 scsb, and the vent/wing window on the driver's side slowly closes on a guy while driving at 40+. My 89 f250, that will stay wide open and rock solid even at 75 mph.
I like the vent windows even better than air conditioning here in WI. Has anybody else managed to successfully fix that problem? All of my searching came up with replacing the entire assembly.

I had mine out this past winter, looking at a couple pics when I did it, it looks like you might be able to get at the tension nut/spring through the speaker hole.
If not, it’s not too bad to remove the whole assembly, tighten it and reinstall. Probably a sat afternoon job. Only 2 cap screws and one bolt holding it in. Getting the seal in correct was the biggest pain. I also did mine on saw horses, makes it a bit easier. I had it in and out several times. When I reassembled the door, they were hanging on the truck. You need to turn it (I forget which way now, nose of the vent window outward..?) as you remove it, the lower attach bracket interferes, you’ll know what I mean when you get here.
couple pics for reference. Good luck with it.
Circles - Attach/hardware points
Arrow - Speaker removed, you might be able to sneak a 1/4”drive on a wobble extension in there. I’d try to give it a bit of spray lube first and let it soak for a few mins.
I appreciate your help, i am gonna try tightening that nut today otherwise that whole baby is coming out tomorrow and getting fixed... I love that window, hahaha
