Happy Easter. I have a 2000 excursion that had its passenger window stuck half way down. Neither passenger or driver switch made it move at all. I took the motor out and it works fine when i give it power. I thought I read somewhere that the power goes through the driver's switch to the passenger switch, so if the driver is bad neither would work. Is that true? I also read about the wires breaking in the tube that goes from the frame to the door. I checked fuse 7 and it is still good. Could the one touch down relay be the problem?
I learned first to look at the easiest thing to fix. Drivers window on my ‘97 Expedition quit. Using a test wire made with alligator clips on both ends, I found the motor wasn’t grounded. Probably in the bundle so I made a more permanent jumper.
Have you tried pulling on the window as you push the switch to close it? My windows will go down half way then they need help but only when it is dry. When the windows are wet they work perfectly
Spraying silicone in the track may help if it's getting dried out and causing too much weight/resistance for the motor to effectively get it up. Some assistance like 450kexcursion recommended will allude to this. Or the motor could be weak.

That's not it. It would slow at about half way down. I wouldn't force it past that, but now it doesn't do anything. I did grease the tracks when I took the motor out. I am going to get out there now and jump the motor into the up position for now. I'm pretty sure that the motor is not getting power. I'll look for a broken wire, but don;t want to fire the parts cannon at it. Thanks
easier way. Pull the motor. Push the window up by hand. Then put the motor back in. I had to do this when my motor died and needed the window up. It has been 2 years and have been to lazy to put the new motor in lolololol

That's what I'm headed out to do now. But the motor does work when I put power directly to it. I had a similar issue on my fox body mustang. I bought a switch to see if that was it and it worked. However, the mustang switch was only like $10. The excursion one is a lot more so I'd like to figure out what the actual problem is first. I'll put the motor in and look at the wires from the truck to the door and update.
I put the motor back in and jumped the motor to raise the window. I then plugged the switches back in and they now work. I'm guessing a bad connection at the motor, although the terminals were very clean or a bad spot in the motor. Hopefully it'll continue to work. We shall see. Thanks
