I believe the core getting pin holes is a sign of voltage
If the leaks were cracks then yes bad parts but pin holes I dont think so.
I am also using a pre mix in my truck.

I don't see where the OP stated pin holes. He said cores sprang leaks. Could be pin holes or other leak type
These are aluminum cores. Aluminum is low on the galvanic scale and will sacrifice to almost every automotive metal. I'm thinking electrically isolated is best for aluminum cores. Check for voltage in the coolant and if that is within spec for aluminum radiators should be good.
