Iridium plugs or not?
Hello all! We have a 2001 F150 Super-crew (5.4L/2V, Automatic transmission, 2 wheel drive) and are looking to get new spark plugs. I remember having them changed many years ago (at around 100,000 miles) and was told they had to be Iridium spark plugs. Is that still the case? I look at the Fordparts.com and they list several Motorcraft plugs for this vehicle, but none say Iridium. Do I need iridium anymore? What's the best plug for this tuck?

Run Motorcraft Plugs.
For what its worth I removed a Ruthenium NGK recently with ignition coil from a 4.6/V8 F150 2000
The ignition coil (Motorcraft) barely lasted 10 000 miles and the tech commented that the NGK Ruthenium had an arc on the plug with only 3000 miles on it.
It was misfiring so anything could be the cause...
Never had any problem with Motorcraft plugs. Just saying.....
