Help with 5 speed install

I have a thread in the classic truck section, but thought I might get a little more expert help here...

I have an M5R2 that came from a 96 F150, with a 300. I am putting it into a 67 F100 with a 240/column shifted 3 speed. So far I have removed the engine and the 3 speed, I painted said engine and changed the gaskets, and now Im trying to install it back in the truck with the new 5 speed. I started to bolt up the pressure plate today (which I bought new for a 96 F150) and it wont work. The new pressure plate (for a 96) lines up with a set of holes on the flywheel, but the holes dont have threads in them. Ill post pictures to make a little more sense.

Can I use a flywheel from a 96 F150 to fix this? Will it even bolt up to the crank? Will I have to have the factory flywheel drilled and tapped? I cant be the only one to have done this. I cant find a thread that has a 240 being put in front of an M5R2.

The holes with the bolts are the only holes with threads.

New (96) pressure plate on top, original (67) on the bottom.

The engine after paint. I didnt want to do a full rebuild, just a refresh. I have a 5.0 from an explorer waiting for a rebuild that will go in later.

If I understand it right, the flywheels from all the 240's and 300's are interchangeable. The difference in the bolt patterns you have I believe is the difference between 10" and 11" clutch set-ups, the bigger diameter for the bigger clutch. I am working on a 300 from a '91 truck, the flywheel has both sets of holes threaded. It had a 10" clutch, but it's gonna get an 11" and it bolted up fine. I think you could either get a later flywheel, or have the outer holes on yours threaded, and you'd be good.

Thank you. The original clutch was 11", and Im installing an 11" again, but the other holes are too big to have them threaded. The bolts just fall in. Unless I need bigger bolts? The holes on the newer pressure plate do seem big, but the stamped area around the holes doesnt leave much room for the bolt heads.

The bolts I have for the 11" pressure plate are 3/8-16x3/4" long.
