Cummins conversion questions
Here she is, a little rough but old school cool.
I have a donor 1972 f250 4x4 that I can use for the frame and I have a donor 1979 f350 for the axles and steering box.
I don’t know what springs I will need but I want to keep the original high boy stance.
I think I want to keep the divorced tc setup and find a 1994-98 Dodge Cummins with a 2wd 5 speed, nv4500.
Do any of you know what leaf springs would work for this?

This is a great forum for the ford side of things, I think guys can help with that end but might be partial to original ford gas power. 73-79 forum will be a good resource as well as well as cumminsforum and 4btswaps. The same questions you’ll have have been asked if you read through. Spend a month or two researching it then plan it out.
Read through build threads and watch youtube for ideas.
If you’ve done the type of thing before it will be easier and you’ll know what you can skrimp on. If you’re rebuilding the engine get your smelling salts ready for cummins parts $$. Same for trans and differentials.
You seem to be in the starting phase, At this point consider a married setup. Battle born brakes just came out with a married 205 crossmember that supports the heavy cast 205 and the trans (aluminum prone to stress cracks). I am doing divorced and it works ‘fine’ but is not optimal as I need to tweak some things. If I were to do it over I would do married zf5 close ratio. Married ‘should’ work with the high pinion front angle and a rear dc shaft.
Go drive a nv4500 and consider whether you like the 3/4 gear split, then decide.
