Adding a back up camera for trailer connect

My first post here, seems like a very helpful forum

I am in the market for an F350 pickup to us as a tow vehicle for my business. I have been shopping for the last month, and many of the trucks that look like good deals otherwise don't have back up cameras. I will frequently need to hook up my trailer by myself and you know how that is.

My question: It seems most of the factory cameras mount to the top of the tailgate. All of the aftermarket back up cameras I have found attach to the license plate mount. Would a camera mounted on the license plate be able to see the trailer hitch ball and still be useful as a back up or parking assist camera? Any recommendations for specific camera systems?

Thanks.

A friend has a camera on his license plate, older F250, he said it helps.
