Hello, really stumped on what to do next, have an 89 f250 5 speed 4x4 with a newer crate 351. Truck has sat for awhile, just picked it up. I’m having an high idle issue, sits about 1500rpms. Now I have got this to fluctuate down to 700 but will always kick a check engine light and will then high idle. Idling at 700 you can tell the truck isn’t happy either. Not a smooth idle. Truck has virtually all new sensors and computer. It has all the emission systems deleted, egr smog, ect. TAB, TAD, and egr plug all have resistors in them, and egr sensor installed, with about half the plugger showing, all things I’ve found in other forums. Then vacuum lines and what not have been plugged or removed.
I bought a obd1 code reader for a hope I can get some sort of code, but from what I’ve seen the code reader gets no signal from computer, so that doesn’t help. Could be the issue? Not sure.
anyways that’s a quick run down on what’s been done. And tips and tricks would be appreciated. Truck runs strong I just would like to get the idle down.
Thank you! It’ll give it a try, TPS has been replaced, now I do know, from what I believe I’ve read, it is adjustable. Not sure if it’s set where it should be.

Just because it's been replaced doesn't mean it good. You might also have a damaged TPS connector from people sticking probes in the sockets and stretching them out.
Ford specifically mention, many times, "don't stick multimeter probes in connector sockets".
So I watched the videos, I have a multi meter, it doesn’t go down to the 2 volts dc so I set it at 20 volts dc. Orange wire I get a constant 5 volts, from what I’ve read that’s good. Green wire I’m only getting about 0.04. I’ve also tried to drill out the holes and move it, and it stays a constant .04, and from what I’ve read I need upwards from .65-1 v? I’m assuming a bad new sensor, but I’m not sure. Also confused why im getting no difference in volts. Thanks.
