E4OD Torque converter install question

I have a 1990 ford f250 7.5l w/ e40d transmission, transmission was rebuilt recently. Now my question, torque converter was installed all the way ( I triple checked it) when I installed the trans into the truck the torque converter was roughly 1/8" from the Flex plate, when I tightened the torque converter bolts the torque converter tightened towards the flex plate, but pulled about an 1/8" from/out of the transmission pump. IS THIS NORMAL?

If the TC pulls forward to the flex plate approximately 1/8 inch after the bellhousing mates & as the nuts are tightened, then the torque converter was properly seated.
