Torque converter lockup?

Torque converter lockup?

I am working on a 97 F250 Powerstroke. 300k on the engine and chassis with around 50k-65k on an ATS stage 4 (?) Transmission with the on command controller. I have an intermittent torque converter lock up, and/or partial lockup. Local transmission shop said that the truck is not showing turbine speed, or output speed. What's the best source for wiring diagrams and trouble trees for these trucks? Or would it be worth it to invest in the US Shift Quick 4 stand alone controller and be done with it. Thanks for the future input.

The E4OD in your truck has neither a turbine speed sensor nor an output speed sensor. That's probably why it isn't showing those two speeds.

Well, that goes to show how much I know about these trucks. What would cause the torque converter to not go into full lockup? Speedo is working, cruise works, no ABS light on, or flashing O/D light. The only code that he could pull was a P0500. I changed the sensor in the diff, it didn't change anything.

Check wiring going to the VSS as well as the connector. Also make sure your brake lights are working including the cab brake light.

FYI, I've had US Shift controllers in 2 trucks,very happy with.

That can cause this. Check the wiring to the sensor electrically for continuity, short to power, and short to ground.
