Staying at truck stops is not something we do because of the noise and safety, but off the path overnight stops or rest stops are a frequent way we rest during travel. This Love's RV stop might be an option for us in the future as we travel the nation and just need an overnight stop.
We have seen 3 of the Loves RV stops so far, not impressed at all………. All have been right next to the gas islands and very close to passing traffic, when we looked them up they seemed a bit overpriced for a parking spot in a parking lot with hookups, at least to us.
I just randomly picked one in Idaho, put my information in and a site rental would be $39.50 for overnight. (Pull through, full hookup, 50amp) Not a bad price for overnighting so I'd probably give it a try.
RVTravel.com had a write-up about them this past weekend and it sounds like they're all different in terms of price, amenities and location, at least so far. I'd probably add it to my list of possibilities for an overnight stop if it was handy.
interesting. I could see this as a benefit while traveling several days enroute to somewhere. we typically over night it at a Walmart and then stay at a KOA after a couple of days so we can dump.
Having been on the road since last July and just now getting home from a 14,805 mile trip that included lots of boondocking, camping on beaches, in the dessert, one crummy campground in Illinois and a bunch of Harvest Host and Boondocker Welcome locations across our country. We tried 7 truck stops including 2 at a Love's truck stop in their RV spots. Not impressed; both times near the entrance to the gas pumps, noisy, traffic all night long and all were back ins with full hookups for $42. We only used them so we could dump and fill up with fresh water after boondocking for a spell. In other truck stops we have stayed at we looked for a spot way in the back corner where we could back in and only have a truck parked on our passenger side so we could put the slides out on driver's side. Worked well and in a couple of cases I ran the generator for 3-4 hours too. Being they were cold nights the truckers were running their engines for heat in the cabs so no one ever complained to us about our generator running. We never stay at KOA's as we don't want all their "extras" and pay their high costs. We have stayed at 2 campgrounds we loved, High Chaparral RV Park in Casa Grande, AZ and Grand Ole RV Resort in Goodlettsville, TN, 15 miles north of Nashville. Loved the boondocking the desserts near Quartzsite and Yuma AZ, the beaches of TX on the Gulf waters near Port Lavaca and Padre Island area near Corpus Christi. Learned that the Mexican food along the TX border towns far exceeds what we get in WA near the Canadian border. Practically ate my way across TX on the stuff.
Just judging by how poorly I have seen the placement of RV Fuel Islands at Love's truck stops, I would not expect great consideration given to RV Parking spaces.
Thank you all for your input and sharing your experience. I figured this was how it was going to go. It might be a stop we use if we are too tired to continue or the weather is crap and we need to stop. It will not be a planned stop though, at least not at this point.

If I was in a situation like that, I would consider the hookups a bonus. It happens. Sometime you can't make your destination and you have to hunt around for a place to overnight.
I always considered truck stops and rest areas as not RV friendly, so we plan in advance a layover stop within 8 hours driving time to our destination. So far worked out great as we have locations now for when we want to do short trips. I used to drive LH, and truck stops are not conducive to a good nights rest, akin to being at a state park along busy railroad tracks with a crossing in the park.
Has anyone just parked out with the trucks and hoped for the best at truck stop? Not every Loves, FlyingJ, Pilot or Iowa 80 truck stop fills up at night with trucks. Rest areas often have plenty of space in the auto parking zone all night long, and I've stayed there before overnight even though travel trailers are instructed by sign to park with the trucks.
I've learned to sleep with wearing noise canceling headphones and eye mask.
