Steer column
Hello. New here. Just picked up a 58 f100. I’m excited no rust holes, engine doesn’t smoke. Ran 65mph down the Freeway. 292V8. Question is..seems all the upgraded steer columns I find skip over these models. They stop at 56 then start in the 60s. Is there a steer column upgrade steer column somewhere for these. Original is in good shape virtually no play. Normal for old truck. would just like to put a tilt wheel and a hair smaller steer wheel. Manual steer.

On these trucks, the column and gearbox are basically one unit. You may be able to adapt a universal tilt column to bolt onto the factory steering gear, but it would require some fabrication. You could also go to a power steering conversion like CPP, but I have it on good authority that it requires modification of your clutch slave cylinder.
