Hello everyone, I have a 97 f350 with the factory rke but po had lost original key fobs, so I bought some new ones that are the right ones, but when shortening the rke module the locks click but I go to press the button on the key fob and nothing happens, they have new batteries. The left rear door doesn't unlock or lock at all so I'm wondering if all 4 doors have to be working in order for the rke to work?
If any electric functions on the doors do not work especially the rear doors, check to ensure the wires in the accordion flex tubing in the door jam are not broken. Look very carefully at these wires, as they can become brittle from open/closing of door and break off (even inside the insulation). Easy fix, I use none insulated butt connectors with quality shrink tubing and don’t forget to use dialectic grease in connectors, just replace and add a little length to the wires.
cheers

May be wrong, but I think you are trying to say is "do all the locks have to cycle so the programming of the new fob will occur". When trying to program it...... I'm gonna say maybe so. The only reason I say that is because I ran into the same problem on my son's 4runner when trying to program his fob. The locks have to cycle 5 times, and since it's old, they slow, or don't cycle and the programming just doesn't work.
I would definately get that door to cycle and try again.
