Another new code.. After changing the fuel filter I tried starting my truck but It would fire up. It sounded like it was about to and then no. So I got my code reader hooked up and did a KOEO scan, The old codes came up again even though I cleared all the codes. But this time it kicked code 212 Ignition Module Circuit Failure/SPOUT circuit grounded .
I just changed the ignition module and the Coolant Temp Sensor.
Any advise on what I should test? Because my issue is probably an extension of what I was trying to fix in the first place,,, Hesitation, Misfiring and just poor running but, it got me around. Fired right up no problem until I turned it off in front of an AutoZone and when I got back in, it just crank and not start.
Most likely someone sold you a gray Push-Start Ignition Control Module (ICM). Wrong one for your truck. Very common mistake since most part look-ups are wrong including Ford.
Report after doing more testing this morning: After cycling the fuel pump 6 times it was still basically the same. It kept sounding like it was about to fire up BUT Noooooooo! So then I got a fuel pressure gauge and cycled 1 more time and it read 8 lbs or so. The I cycled it a couple of more times and got it to about 39 lbs. It help pretty well dropping to 30 in about 15 minutes. Next (and I don't know how good of an indicator this is or not) I hooked a timing light to #1 cylinder and it was firing. This is where I left off for now.
Follow these procedure to do a fuel pressure check. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...rd-trucks.html
I suspect your fuel volume is very low and once you try to start the engine, your fuel pressure drops to zero.
