Coolant temp off??

So I have a almost bone stock truck except straight pipe and a tune but it’s just a mild 40 horse for mpg but the tune shut down the egr so it doesn’t use it now I haven’t did the delete yet but for some reason I always Monitor my oil and coolant delta but recently it’s been off and I believe a sensor went bad because my tuner says my oil will be like 189 but coolant with be at 160 flat not a decimal or anytimg and will stay that way but in park it goes right back to normal at a 8 degree delta and it’s werid bc my truck normally is runs cool my oil temp never gets over 190 and it rarely reaches that so I think something has gone bad

To test the sensor, you can swap them (they are the same). Just clean them first of course. lol

yea I’ll try it but it’s just weird all of a sudden my engine seems healthy my oil temp never gets to high even on long drives but this last week it’s been off by 30 degrees and it’s only resting on like whole numbers

And I just changed my oil but I’m thinking I’ll do a coolant flush but it just seems weird

I Have replaced the oil and coolant temp sensors a few times because of similar readings. The good thing is they aren't too expensive.

It could also be a pigtail issue.

great news, but SYK, I doubt your SCT can do anything to the EGR valve if it's not plugged in.

yep. I a just about to post about that. Me coolant temps would do that after some rodents chewed through some egr wiring. Coolant temps would jump up and down 20 degrees or so while cruising down the highway.
