I’m looking for a new bench seat for my 75 highboy. I can’t seem to be able to find one to buy brand new. Can you buy OE bench seats brand new or do I have to buy used and repair with new parts and upholstering?
Easy to take it to a quality upholstery shop. They sell repop bottom cushion (if needed), but that back pad is hard, if not almost impossible to locate. Or shop for any seat out of a Ford truck up to a 1996 and bolt your 75 sliders onto the frame and put it in. Or shop for a 2000 ish Super Duty Crew Cab REAR seat. Take off the OEM fixed risers, bolt on your sliders and there you go. I did have to make some risers out of square tubing.
You can use any ford truck seat up into the mid 90s. You bolt your seat tracks on to the later model seat and it bolts right back into your truck. With the 90’s seat you can get arm rests, head rests and lumbar support I have a seat out of a ‘92 in my ‘71 highboy. Better chance of finding a seat in good condition. Good luck
Ebay or a FTE member that sells parts cheaper than the ebay guy. Source a 73-79 set of sliders to be able to reuse your OEM floor pan seat slider bolt holes.
Idea. If you want OEM try swap meep. Or watch CL. Benches up all the time. eBay not an option due to shipping cost. I have a full spare bench but I am in NC.
Well you do have the gas tank in the cab, so no real need to be able to fold the back up. Unless to get to the sending unit, but it should slid far enough fwd for that. I do not know of a bench that does not have the pivot ability. Also when searching, even if you get a split folder out of a 73-79 Super Cab or a 78/79 Bronco. Pretty sure it will work in your truck.
