Ford 400 pulleys
Hey guys so I have a 400 that originally had power steering I no longer need power steering. I wanna get it setup to only have one v belt to run the water pump and alternator but the original water pump pulley doesn't line up with the alternator. Anyone know if I can get a shallower pulley or a double pulley that would allow me to only run one v belt? Or do I need to put a idler pulley where the power steering pump was and run 2 belts?

Looks like you've got the alternator mounted upside down.

The alt. belt only goes over the crank pulley.

I would think you could space the fan/water pump pulley out and change your fan spacer.

This diagram in the MpC indicates it's possible. I don't have time to dig up any specifics but at least you're not looking in vain.

Mr Gasket 8829 (3 groove) looks like itll do what you want and not even need to swap spacers
alternatively WPP1 (2 groove) from CJ pony parts might do it or 329810 (2 groove) from summit.

Do you have photos of the setup? I’m having the same issue with my 351M in a ‘65.

I don't have a picture of it but I used the original crank shaft pulley and alternator pulley then I used 329810 dual groove pulley from summit.
