Can i, ate least partially, inspect my clutch to determine condition, without removing the tranny and clutch from the truck? I know plenty of you have r&r these items, so even though i never have, im confident, that if the need is there, ill get it done. What i know at the moment, is my zf6 is rebuilt. Dont know about the clutch, though at 270k im assuming its not original. Truck would drop out of overdrive when i got it.... randomly. Found a loose bolt when i did injectors amd turbo last year. Tightened it, and almost removed that problem, but now, ive been developing an issue shifting into L, and sometimes R.... i have to put the clutch pedal against the floor when this happens, to get it in gear. Othertimes, i can shift normally. Without actually going to the floor. All that to say, i know im developing wear.... i know im going to have to get in there, eventually. Just trying to sort out how much might be involved, ahead of time.
If or when you get ready to take that fatty out of there, you can refer to some of the threads below which I took from the 7.3L PSD Tech Folder. The 4th link in the top section may be quite helpful.
