FE crank keyways

I'm lost. We had to replace our 390 with a salvaged 360. The 360 crank has a keyway that doesn't fit the 390 crank spacer. The 390 spacer has a slightly narrower keyway cut into it and I can't locate a spacer with a keyway that will mate w/ the 360 crank. Any suggestions or a lead on a spacer that will fit? Thanks in advance. This looks like a very good forum and I'm anxious to go thru it soon.

I don't do FE but it could be you need the spacer/balancer for the size engine.

Are you sure it doesn't just have a burr on it or something ? I thought all FE's took the same spacer. maybe the FT's are different.

OP says 360/390. If he got an FT by mistake he would have crank diameter issues.

Probably. but a 352-428 FE are supposed to take the same spacer.

I'd guess something got hammerd on and swelled .

In many years of putting together and swapping parts around in FE engines, I have yet to run into a crankshaft key/spacer issue. They have all been the same.
