Lights Flickering, B1318 code
I've been noticing a slight flicker in my headlights, almost imperceptible when driving along because it almost looks like a bump in the road, but the other morning I was sitting there on high idle and could definitely tell it was a real thing. Then yesterday I really gave it the wood passing someone on the highway triggering the SES light and I looked for codes and noticed that there's a B1318 in both the ECS and GEM modules (possibly more but on the screenshot I took I can't see if there's any more, I was taking the screen shot for the other codes which I think is related to a overboost situation when I passed the other car, the SES went away and drives like normal.)
So, what is that B1318? Flickering usually means volt regulator issue, but is that in the alternator or one of the computer modules? Possibly bad grounds? New batteries last fall.
Looking at the last PID log file I have, looks like VPWR is as 11.6-11.8 at first start up idle and then up to almost 15 on the highway. It does look like it dips down to 12.5 when I sat at idle for awhile then picks back up before the rpms did when I started driving again. I'll have to log it again to get more info and remember more about the drive and if I notice the flickering.
This coincides with your last PID log file and the measurements you listed.
Referring to Section 414-00 provides the following sections and subsections...
Since you did not indicate if you have single or dual alternators, I assumed you have a single alternator setup. In which case, I downloaded the center subsection into a PDF and attached it here for your viewing pleasure.
Bottom line is that you are going to hunt for the gremlin that has taken up residence until you find it. Usual suspects are dirty or loose battery terminals, corroded cabling where you cannot see it under the sheath, POS batteries, etc...
