high idle

My truck has developed a high idle issue recently, however if I shut the truck off and restart it the truck will idle normally.
Has anyone else had an issue similar to this?

Please define "not getting anything on that front". No codes is a problem. If there are no errors flagged during the Key On Engine Off (KOEO) tests you would get the System Pass code 11 or 111. If there are no stored codes in Continuous Memory (CM) you would also get the System Pass Code 11 or 111.

If you did get "no codes" you either ran the tests wrong or you have a bad computer.

Given your stated symptom you probably have a bad TPS.

Thanks for the clarification. As noted before the symptoms are pointing towards an issue with the TPS. Shutting off the truck, then restarting sets the minimum closed throttle TPS value back to default in the computer. As you drive the TPS signal is erratic so the computer is ratcheting up the minimum stored value which tends to increase the idle RPM.

On my old 1992 F350 I found the TPS connector had green corrosion inside of it. Static testing revealed no issues but when driving and heating up everything the resistance (therefore the feedback voltage) was changing. Cleaning that connector fixed my problem.

Others have found the TPS itself was getting "noisy" and throwing off the computer.

If you go this route I highly suggest a Ford/Motorcraft replacement. Aftermarket version are very susceptible to poor quality and early failures.
