This time it's not my diesel, but my friends 6.2 gasser.
It's a 2014 F250 6.2L with 123K on it. We were out driving it tonight and the Engine was surging, both at cruising speeds and at idle, in a rythmic fashion. The lights were doing it as well. The truck was driven for a while and was up to operating temp.
Brought it home, there are no codes or pending codes, but the battery was showing 14.3 volts, but would dip down to 13 at the low point in the surge. Just hoping for a little imput before we drop 3 bills or more on an alternator. I've had plenty of alternators go bad over the years, but never causing engine surge, it would usually just die.
Thanks for reading and any suggestions you may have.
