Have a truck that driver says it will randomly crank and the starter stays engaged but will not start, he said he let the truck sit for a couple of minutes and it started, I tried to duplicate the problem to no available.
Installed my scanner and the only code that is triggered is a U0422 which is an "invalid data received from body control module".
Does this code have anything to do with the problem?
Has the Fuse 27 relocation been done. Pull F27 from the under hood fuse box and inspect the fuse and look down in the socket and inspect the contacts and wires. See if any burn marks or discoloration.
That code can mean a few things and could be related to the problem however you'll need IDS to figure out what's causing it. It's also a code that can be displayed if the trucks pcm has been flashed with a custom tune. Definitely check fuse 27 as mentioned.
Exactly what you guys said, melted socket on fuse #27.
Cut the wires going there and relocated it to the side of the fuse box with an aftermarket fuse holder.
freak, good move taking the initiative to repair without the TSB kit. I've often thought that a simple aftermarket fuse holder and length of wire would do the job just as good.
