I'm a big fan of BAT and what it commands for these old trucks. Recently, I've seen a huge surge in the patina style trucks with have been resto-modded. What are ya'll thoughts on these?
I saw this one and thought I should quit my job and start building these exclusively!
If you think the price is nuts on this truck. You need to go to you tube and check out Jay Leno's Garage. His latest post is of a 1970 Ford F-250 4x4.And be sure you are sitting down when the guy who built the truck tells how much it will cost you to have them build one for you. No Thanks.
If the person did the work them selves I can relate but anyone can buy something already done if they have the money.
I also dont mind a newer power plant in an older car / truck as long as it is of the same make.
Again anyone can drop a LS into something! Nothing worst than looking under the hood of a non-GM and seeing a GM power plant
Dont get me started on rat rods, just too lazy / no skill to do it right!

FuzzFace2 I'm gonna have to take offense to your post. I've painted everyone of my car/truck projects myself and that's a bunch. While I agree with you about that the brand of engine should match the make of the vech. All of the people who like /make rat rods are not lazy and don't lack the skills. Now some do and some don't. My current project is a 1930 Ford Model A with a body by Murray. And yeah it's not gonna get any paint just flat clear and I'm done. You can have your opinion but don't lump everybody together.
Truck prices are fickle and it's largely dependent on getting the right buyer, but BAT is awesome and has a wide net to find the right buyer.
Some like heavily resto-modded vehicles, some don't. Some like green, some like orange (like me), some like stock, some like 2x4, some like 4x4. $60K for that truck seems reasonable considering the amount of work done on it. I bought a truck on BAT and while one could say I paid more than it's worth...it was exactly what I was looking for. It needed a SIGNIFICANT amount of work to get her safe to drive, but that's how it goes and that's why I have a garage the size of my house.
To each his own but good God don't put a Chevy engine in a Ford!

You are right I should not lump them all together but most I see around here are.
If you are going to put clear over the dents & rust put a little more time in and do the body work and color on it or just leave it the way it is.
I give a lot of credit to people who at least try and do body work and paint on their rides. Yea it may not be a show job but they tried.
Now a kit like your A is something different and that is fine in my book.
I can walk the walk and talk the talk as I did all the work on my 81 F100 cab off frame rebuild right down to the body work & paint.
As bought
Almost done but on the road after 4 years

As someone that has worked a restoration that won best paint at a super Chevy show again 3k+ other cars... Thats nice... People do what they can and don't deserve someone being a ***** about what they did. I see cars that I don't like the way they are done but someone enjoying an automobile is a win in my book. The next car they build might be something you do like.
