I felt that the entire team shoulda just walked out on to the field and gave the refs their wallets. They were being robbed on the penalty count anyway.
The Vols were outcoached. Fulmer and the staff didn't seem to make adjustments they needed to and most of the game the team didn't seem very motivated. Disappointed by the new Offensive Coordinator Clawson, I was hoping to see something different but to me it looked like the same old Tennessee offense. I think the team still has potential and hopefully this will be a wake up call, and they can get things together before we play Florida in three weeks.
The Vols were outcoached. Fulmer and the staff didn't seem to make adjustments they needed to ... but to me it looked like the same old Tennessee offense..
Out Coached, Out played, and Out refed.....I will say that it was the 1st time in about 30 years that I saw the offense come out and run on 1st down, then pass for 2 downs and then have to punt. Evidently neither way works.
We absolutely owned Craft in the first half. It was awesome. But Fulmer kept trying to get a friggin field goal from 50 plus. After 2, you would think he would have learned his lesson.
I wouldn't exactly call Texas soft. If you can remember back to the days of the Old Southwest conference when it was Texas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas in one conference that was a really tight competitive conference(The Good Ole Days). Now your right the conference that Texas is in isn't like SEC, but I wouldn't call Texas itself soft nor Ohio State really.
No doubt he can hold his own in THE most competitive conference in college ball. I cannot argue that. But i dont care for the players that he recruits. I dont care for his coaching style. I dont care for him period. Maybe it is because im sick of the same ole same ole.
To me, 16 years should produce more than 1 National Title and 2 Conference Titles. I respect what he has done but he has had his chance. Time for something new. Just my opinion. You dont have to feel the same.
Hey youngun, If you want to talk VOL Fan, I pretty much grew up in Neyland Stadium. I've seen a lot of games and never pulled for any other team. But, when you watch a game and see the same thing time after time, you can wonder if the opposing teams really need to watch game reels to know what the Vols are going to do. Yes, I did watch last nights game from start to end.The first half was more on the edge of new,but the second half was totally old UT football. The biggest thing that everyone notices is that the defensive pass coverage backs off and gives the opposing recievers all the room they need to make a catch and at least 5 yards more. It just gets old. UT was once known as Wide Reciever U. No one knew who was going to end up making a catch, or for how far the pass would go in the air. It might have been for a short gain or it would be at least 40 yards down field before the defense knew it was coming. You younger guys need to go and look at some of the old game footage to see how different it is.
Its a battle that i fight in pro ball too. Im a Titans fan. The Titans have a rough time every year because they are in one of the toughest divisions in the NFL. This year, it is THE toughest division. I know that they aren't going to be the best but I still expect more from them every year.
I know that they aren't going to be the best but I still expect more from them every year.
That is the eternal battle for all sports fans I think(atleast I would think all the diehard ones). That and it's always easier for us to point out mistakes when we are up in the bleechers and the coach and/or players are calling for dumb moves down on the field.
