hey all, I've been painstakingly restomodding my old 79 CC S/B. Its been seriously lowered, and modded. I am nearing completion, and decided to put up a bunch of my pix of the whole progression. This project has been 3.5 years in the making, with about 7 years of dreaming and planning. My heart and soul has been dumped into this thing, as well as every waking moment not spent with the family. I know most of you think trucks like this are only s'posed to be lifted, but I don't like to run with the pack, I prefer to cut my own trail, and be different, so please keep your "shoulda lifted it" comments to yourself. Below is a link, so you don't have to search to find it. Enjoy.
hey different strokes for different folks. i am not a fan of lowered trucks but not a fan of lifted 2by trucks either. i like the shifter. very clean rig.
Aside from my personal opinion that no truck should be hot-rodded, your truck looks pretty cool if you like that sort of thing. You did a much better job than most of the lowered old trucks I've seen.
But if I ever see your truck's front end bouncing up and down I'm going to have to change my mind
Im not much for lowering trucks unless it for gaining less wind resistance while towing. But I have to admit I like the Crewzer. Maybe I just like the catchy name.
That is a great looking truck. It sure came a long way from the workhorse it was. Thats about the stance I want to give my truck, but I am going with wide rims as opposed to bigger diameter rims. It looks great, you did a great job. Only problem is, now you need a new project!!
Very nice!!! One of the better lowered Fords I have seen!! It really makes me want to finish my crew cab! I need a bed just like you did, any more leads on solid short beds?
Very nice! Didn't know how that would look but it balances out nicely. Most importantly, you only have to please one person regarding the style of your truck, you. Any other mods in the future?
I'm a big, tall truck man all the way,2 or 4wd, but that truck is awesome!!! I have never seen one lowered and completed that professionally. I'm very, very particular about what I drive....and I would drive the s@#t out of that. VERY NICE, VERY WELL DONE!!!WOW! Mike
that's one sweet ride. some very nice work there..... not a fan of the 20's, but definatly jelous of how nice and straight it is. do the body work yourself?
Thanks guys. Thunderb, thats why I did a crewcab. I got the wife and two ankle-biters, so they will fit nicely in the backseat. Theonlybull...thanks, I did all the work myself, with the exception of the body and paint. That is one thing I will always leave to a professional.
I know what you guys are sayin bout lowered trucks. i get it lots, I live in Alberta, Canada, where everyone has a lifted truck, it seems. They get all scrunchy faced, and ask me, "how ya gonna haul anything, or go offroad?" or, "if you wanted a low fast vehicle, why not just buy a car?" I just chuckle to myself. Thanks again guys.
FWIW if it was my truck I would definately add either a billet aluminum grille or a stainless steel tubular grille. And a lund sunvisor / moonvisor (painted to match body of course) to make that long flat roofline look even longer!
