Hello, I am new to owning a bullnose and found this switch under my dash of my 86 f350 6.9 idi. It was plugged in but I have no idea what it does. Definitely confusing me right now but it’s a 3 way switch so does anyone know what it is for and what it does? Any help will be appreciated!
You know what ? I think it could be, I’ll test it later tonight
Well I tested it and with it in the first and second position the fans don’t kick on but with it being on the third/final position it kicks on the fans. I don’t know if it’s the fan speed switch cause my fans seem to only have one speed so switch could be bad then? Not 100% sure on that cause the high-Lo-off switch definitely ain’t doing **** when I move it up and down.
Also thank you to all who replied and gave me your input I really/always appreciate y’all’s time!
I take it all you had was high / fast speed?
If so then the fan resister could be bad, not that un-common.
When under the hood look at the HVAC box where the fan motor is and just below it where I think the fan wires plug in there is athing held to the box I think with 1 screw, that is the blower fan resister, replace it and see if it now has all the speeds.
When there pull the fan motor off the box and clean out all the leaves and junk.
You may even find leaves on the resister NOT GOOD!
That resister gets hot and the leaves then catch fire then burning the rest of the leaves and junk and before you know it the truck is on fire and gone.
So pull the blower motor and clean out the junk.

Ahhhhh I see. I did only have fast/high I believe. I’ll give it a look pretty soon as I’m replacing my heater core anyways. I got the truck with the heater not hooked up cause the core went bad so I’m just now getting around to all the other issues after I got the old 6.9 running.
Also out of curiosity does anyone know where I can find the glow plug/door buzzer? Mine isn’t working or I actually think it’s missing cause I can’t seem to find it anywhere. I read online somewhere that it’s in the glovebox? I checked and I did find a plug in there but nothing connected to it? Will post a pic later but I also know people remove them cause they hate them. Personally I’m a little big/tall at 5’11ish so it makes seeing that weak light hard but I might just put an LED in it if I can’t find another buzzer

The buzzer is located above the glove box. You have to remove the liner to see it:

How many wires on the plug? Was it under the glove box? If only one or two wires, those may be for the courtesy lights. The lights were optional, but I think all harnesses had the provisions.
If this plug had 7 wires, that was probably for the buzzer.

like this ????
if so, how can I replace it ? I heard OBS chimes work on the bullnoses but what year should I be looking for like 92-96 or 97+ still works ?
Good luck finding any year that still works. What do you want it mainly for? If you want a headlight reminder, they are easy to make yourself.
How true
In the 3+ years my truck has been back on the road I have only heard it buzz once and I dont have a clue what I did to make it sound.
It would be nice to have it work if I left the head lights on as I have done that 1 or 2 times.

Funny cause today I finally went to the junk and pulled two modules. They both worked, even got different years and I’m happy they both ended up being different modules. I got a buzzer and chime, I stuck with the less annoying chime though.
Also for those wondering
I had the typical ****ty ford problem, needed it cause my door was hard to close and wouldn’t close some times so it would pop open. I fixed it though so now I’m using the chime to let my dad and others who drive my truck know when the engines ready to start instead of that dim light in the bottom.
