Nice and clean, everything goes well together. Just curious if they have other base options besides the camera case finish? A nice engine turned panel could look good, too.

that does look nice but all the panels I found were either flat polished billet, brushed billet. I think I did see one that was engine turned.
I wanted to keep the stock dash bezel thats been chromed. The small gauges fit perfectly into the stock housing, I just had to open it up for the speedo. I tried different colors for the panel, and i liked black the best.
I started to install the new gauges and ran into a dilemma. The gauges sit a lot further back in the stock housing and they hit the defroster duct.
I need to remove the duct for this set-up to work.
Either that or move the gauges forward somehow.
I dont want to use one of those billet gauge panels.
Im leaning towards just not using the defrost duct, if i ever need to defrost the windshield on my side i could just open the wind wing and aim it at the windshield...ive done that before. See how much further back the gauges are sitting compared to the stock cluster on the left.
they hit this defroster duct.
You can either do spacers for the front of your panel to bring out the gauges say 1/2 or 3/4". Black plastic pipe works good. Or you can move your black panel out to the back of the chrome bezel which will pull all the gauges farther out for more clearance. I just thought after looking at your photos, you could make a spacer between the factory panel and your panel to push all the gauges to the front more.
Suggestion! Get a rectangular piece of 1/2 x 8 x 14 aluminum, cut to fit, drill holes. Than take it to a engine machine shop, have them shot peen it than shoot it black. This is only if that piece of aluminum gives you the clearance. I don't think anyone will notice the difference
I see 2 options
Get a piece of alum. and use it as a spacer behind the bezel to pull the gauges forward. You could make it slightly oversized and it will look like an other trim piece.
Or... modify your defrost duct. Depending on where the gauges hit, I don't think it would be all that hard to cut and reweld it.
Problem solved... I got the cluster installed and kept the defroster duct.
The problem was the black bracket that holds the gauges in place. They were to tall so the nut would hit the duct. It was only the temp gauge that was hitting. I cut about 3/8 off of the round end of the bracket making it shorter, so the nut screwed down further onto the stud. Then I trimmed the 2 studs.
It still would rub on the duct a little so I took a hammer to the duct, and all is well. Happy days
