I’ve got a 77’ 150 with a factory installed air conditioning compressor
I’m working on trying to get the clutch off and can’t find the right puller
its a tall square compressor with 4 bolt holes in both sides
R12
any help is greatly appreciated!!ii!!
Get deep in the OEM manual on this one, I remember reading that you must electrically engage (?) or disengage the clutch before removal to prevent damage.
I recall mine coming off pretty easy but a little foggy to be 100% certain how I did it but here goes. Remove the center retaining bolt, see if the hub has large female threads. I believe it is 5/8x11 thread if memory serves. Find a 5/8x11 bolt maybe a couple inches long and thread it in. It will contact end of compressor shaft and pop the pulley right off.
It does have a 5/8 thread
below that is shaft end of the compressor
I figured that I could do what you did but
problem is I cant keep the thing from spinning
so I think I need a sleeved arbor or pulley remover different that the one oriellys sold me
