AC clutch
89 351 EB,
My AC works great! but when the compressor is not engaged the clutch still spins and stops, spins a little, stops, spin and squeels like it has a bunch of screeming squeerls in it. i think i can even see slivers of steel shaving off. What does this mean? do I need to buy a new clutch? if so how hard is it to replace?

Are you running with the selector set to any of the defrost settings? The compressor cycles with the defrost settings. It is utilized to dry out the air coming into the truck to keep the windows from fogging.
However regardless of when the compressor is running, if you can see metal shavings around the clutch then yes, its probable that you need to replace it.
