I’m going to be removing all the power steering fluid from my PS system. If I Jack up the front of the truck and disconnect the high pressure line and return line from the pump and turn it lock to lock will it get most of the old fluid out? I’ll also use an air compressor to blow it out. Will the pump drain to like that or do I need to suck the fluid out? I don’t want to start the engine removing the old fluid. I was originally gonna flush it later and run the new pump with what’s in there since I don’t drive the truck yet, but I changed my mind and I want to get the cheap brand fluid I put in out of the pump since I’m going to use Amsoil.
If all you're doing is replacing cheap stuff with good stuff, I imagine taking the lines off and working the box back and forth would get most of it. Blowing it out with air would probably just make a mess. If the existing fluid isn't contaminated, I wouldn't worry about getting it all.
There’s cheap fluid in the pump but old stuff in the lines. But I’m not worried about a mess, as the engine bay is nasty from the old pump leak and i have plywood under the truck and it’s in dirt. I have to clean the engine bay anyways

The return line is at the bottom of the reservoir so disconnecting that hose will drain the reservoir. No need to turn the wheel back and forth.
What I do to flush the system is disconnect the return from the reservoir and place a cap on the nipple so fluid does not drain out. With the front of the truck on jack stands, turn the steering wheel lock to lock, refilling the reservoir as needed. Reconnect the return hose when the fluid coming out of the return hose is clean. All starting the engine does is pump the fluid out faster and run the pump dry.
