2001 Excursion with a 7.3. Started blowing black smoke. It ran, just blew Black smoke. Sent it to a shop and had the Injectors analyzed and they were gunked up from bad fuel. Installed new injectors then drove the truck for 60 miles and parked it.. Smoke issue is gone. 3 days later I take the truck out and didnt even make it a mile before the engine started running like crap. Couldn't even make it home before it died. Connected my Autoenginuity to it and p0303 code comes up misfire. Waited a few hours to start it. It ran for about 45 seconds and died. White smoke now. I called the shop that did the work and they tell me to get it towed there and they'll look at it. Seems like they should pickup the truck or at least off to pay the towing fee. Nope. Get it there and they will look at it.
Appreciate any advice or recommendations you can provide.

23 year old truck. Ran without issues after repair. New problem is different than original problem. Haw many miles?
'It ran great before you worked on it.... when I drug it to you broken'.....
211000 miles
2/3rd's of a tank
Full Force Diesel injectors
'It ran great before you worked on it.... when I drug it to you broken'..... The truck wasn't misfiring upon arrival so I'm not understanding this statement.

Where have I heard that before, LOL. Vehicle gets dropped off by a tow truck and I get it running. Oh, but now it does this and it never did that before.
Glad to be retired now!!!

Just to be clear, I acknowledge to the mechanic this ended up being my fault because I was a dumb_ss. I have apologized to the mechanic for my attitude and he will complete the work.
Proper and clear communication is what solved this issue.
I wasn’t looking for contentious feedback Michelle’s yours. I’m sure there are others that are glad you’re retired as well.
I hope I didn't give you any offence. It truly wasn't intended, just remembering having to deal with customer satisfaction issues as a business owner. And grateful that all of that is in the rear view mirror in more ways than one. If you can overlook these Yankees bantering about a subject that we really don't think you are doing, but we are merely joking about something else in life, we're glad to try and get you pointed in the right direction.
FWIW Full Force Diesel rebuilt injectors have a terrible reputation. The mechanic might have installed some bad injectors right out of the box. Best outcome is if they can narrow it to one or two injectors and have them replaced on warranty. I believe FFD is pretty easy on warranty.
