I have scoured this forum and thought I had found my answer. After checking with shock surplus I am more confused.
I am wanting to remove a 3" rough country lift on my excursion and go back to "mostly" stock with bilstein shocks and v code springs. (I am still wanting to fit my 295 tires)
I read on here that the correct 5100 springs are: Front: 33-187297 Rear: 33-236964
Shock surplus says that rear shock is for a 4" lift.
Does anyone know if that is the correct rear shock? Thanks,
Not a 5100 listed that fits a stock height excursion.
if you must have a Bilstein you can us a 4600 series.
but for a stock height Ex on stockish size tires I like the KYB MonoMax. Same mono tube construction, Similar valving profile and quality as the Bilstein but priced more agreeable.
The V-code springs are going to give you a lift. There are a few options for height and stiffness with the various Superduty springs. Do some searches through the forum and Google to get a list of heights and weights for those, and then pair that with the right 5100 shocks. If you look at Bilstein's or most other 4x4 websites carrying the 5100s, they list the lift height for them. It's pretty straight forward...
1. Pick the springs
2. Match the 5100s
3. Crack a beer and bust your knuckles
