Has anyone replaced a mirror turn signal light on a 2022 HD? I’ve watched a couple of U Tube videos on it but looking for any and all experiences before I tackle it. I need to replace the one on my passenger side mirror that has all of the electronic features. The darn light itself was $150. The first two steps involve popping the two mirrors out which is probably the most risky aspect of the job - definitely not something you’d want to attempt in cold weather..
I've done it twice on a 2019, no different than a 22. Poping the mirrors off really isn't that bad but you do need to use some finesse and be aware of small electrical wires/connections on the back. The part that makes me even more nervous is removal of the plastic back half of the assembly. It actually isn't too bad but makes all kinds of noise.

thanks for the pictures. Where do these come from?
Out of everything I've pulled off or changed out those mirror lights tested my patients the most. As stated above, just take your time and don't the the creaks and cracks throw you off. Those pics posted are a good reference. I think i found a good to the point youtube video. If you ever need another mirror light let me know, I have my stocks boxed up somewhere around here.
So, question. If you are Only changing out the turn signal lamp, is it necessary to remove the motor and lower glass bracket ? And is it necessary to remove the back section from the frame?

No, that video has some helpful visuals but shows removal of more than is necessary. You do not remove the motors and lower mirror adjustor, ypu do not need to remove the front half. You do need to remove the back half. Back half being the half that faces the front of the truck.
Basically you remove the mirrors, I then like to remove the puddle light, remove the 5(?) screws, release the 3 clips for the cap (not removing the cap), then seperate the back half.
This thread has a PDF with additional pages from the service manual. Again, there are procedures shown that aren't necessary for the turn signal r&r. You do not need to remove the entire mirror assembly. The only reason to remove the mirror motor would be to access a clip for complete removal of the top cap, not necessary for this repair.
Ok, great! Thanks everyone for the tips. As soon as I can get the garage free and warmed up I’ll give it a go.
My son looked up the “approved repair time” for a Ford Tech to do the job and it’s 0.4 hrs. Gave thought to letting a dealer do the job but they would probably charge a full hour at $150.
