Mirror Turn Signal Lens

Does anyone know if you can replace just the lens without buying the entire mirror back? Talking the '04-'07 towing style mirrors with amber lenses.

Looking for a part number for just the lens.

You are talking about the amber lenses right?
Im sure someone on here could make you a deal on theirs, lots of people upgrade to the clear or smoked lenses made by Recon. You could also do that too
Or check ebay maybe

Good call, I misread it, and thought he meant the mirror len's itself.

Yes you can replace them. Dealer option, or aftermarket. Both are possible.

I called the dealer and he said I needed the whole paintable back and lens at $180! I want the lens only in one of the black textured style mirrors, not the paintable style.

I saw a mirror for sale with a cracked amber lens. Maybe the dealer does not understand what I am asking for over the phone. I would think it is a pretty common breakable item.

Its not uncommon for the dealer not to want to sell individual parts like that. Try another dealer, or partsguyed.com.

I have done a bit of searching also and only ever found that you have to buy the whole back of the mirror or buy a recon product to replace it. If you have any luck be sure and let us know.

well if yours is cracked a little bit like mine is, you should try filling it with clear epoxy resin if you just need to repair it

i bought a 2000 F350 4dr lngbed, the mirrors are towing mirrors off of a 06, the power works (i can contorl the mirrors still) but the blinkers in the mirrors doesnt work. Is it possible to get them to work? of are the 99-03 7.3's not equiped with the right wiring to make it possible. Anyoe else run into this problem or seen it done?

It is possible to get them to work. I have 06 mirrors in my 99 and I wired them up no problem. The mirror functions can have a adaptor plug installed or hard wire them. Then you just need switchable power for the heat if they are heated and tap the running lights and turn signal wires under the dash and you are good to go. Search tow mirrors and you can find a good write up. Not a big deal at all. Hope this helps. If any questions pm me and I will try to help the best I can.
