question for all you paint guru's out there.
i'm still trying to decide what color to paint my truck,
i love black but my truck is not going to be the straightest
for black paint. i was wondering using flattener in black paint
to make it look like primer, will that show imperfections like shiny
black paint.or will it hide the small flaws.
Hi uk1050, if you use the search function you'll find a number of threads concerning this. I did exactly what you're thinking for the same reason. I chnaged my box because of rot but was not ready to do a full resto, instead I shot the truck in a matted finish. I love it and yes it does hide the small imperfections, I have a couple pics in my gallery. The retro flat black look always look nice in my opinion and everyone who has seen it likes the look. Good luck.
John.

The cheapest option I have found is to shoot the rig with black Zero Rust paint. It will come out a semi-gloss that will degloss over time, when exposed to UV. ZR runs about $50/gallon.
