Idling is worse for diesels. Don't buy a Komatsu 360 excavator, they throw codes daily.

this shows you where to find the engine hours. I try not to idle as that is zero miles per gallon. this was in August.

That truck ran great for me, no major repairs in it's history, still running great with over 220k on it now. Crazy amount of time on that engine.
Gotta love the 6.2.

On my previous truck, 2015 RAM 2500 Cummins, after a little over 6 years and 608,000 miles, the idle percentage was between 7-8%.
I was always very conscious about idling as little as possible.
At 608K miles, truck still had all emissions equipment working, and had required very few repairs, was still going strong when I sold it.

Nothing more than a Cummins under the bonnet of a Komatsu. Not the poor Komatsu's fault... well partially since they partnered with Cummins decades ago.

Outside of diesel emissions systems sensitive to idling, fuel dilution is the enemy of a high idle hour engine diesel or gas. Change your oil out accordingly or mix in some long run times at operating temp and working rpm range its a non-issue.
