ok, when my truck is in drive and i come to a stop it idles and feels like its gonna die. but if i let it idle in park it idles perfectly fine. is there a way to adjust something to make it idle better or what?
Does it only happen when the truck is warming up, or is it all the time? Most likely the idle mixture and speed needs to be adjusted. Does the truck have an idle stop solenoid, or is the curb idle controlled by a screw? What kind of engine/carburetor combination?
I got a 94 f150 5.0 OBS 1 once the idle screw has been messed with, can you take to shop and have screw reset where it's supposed to be, where everything is back factory set or close. Other words does the TB and IAC have to be reprogrammed in the computer?
but if your vacuum advance is hooked to manifold sometimes if the idle drops enough it will drop the advance out and want to die. the cure is to run ported vacuum and your idle will stay steady because it has no vacuum at idle to effect it. your pickup was intended to run ported so you might check.
