For years I have wondered why so many carbs, Holley included, have a 1/2" hole in the throttle linkage. Yesterday, while browsing the Summit site for throttle lever studs, I noticed that Holley and Quickfuel make a bushing that sits in that hole so that a person can install a throttle cable stud there. Is that the preferred location for throttle hook up? I usually use the hole right to the right of the 1/2" hole in the image, but the larger of the two would offer better leverage. However, it seems as though the nylon bushing would soon wear out? thoughts?

Thanks for the replies. After reading your responses, I went back and re-read the product descriptions and questions/answers about the product. No where do I see mention of a specific trans. Again and again customers mention throttle cable attachment. I believe, therefore, that that 1/2" hole, with this bushing, is the best choice for the throttle cable connection.
That hole matches the hook up's for most of the GM engines of the early years. Just use the lower or slightly to the right of the big one. Look at any Ford/Autolite carbs. If the big one works for you use it, might get you half throttle.
