Ignition Cylinder Change issues
I recently switched the door locks and the ignition cylinder on my 1994 F250. The ignition cylinder came out with no problem, put the ignition in the run position and depressed the metal ball, and slid it out. I aligned the new ignition in the exact same position as the old one, turned the key to start, and when I put it in it won't sit all the way in. It goes down but there's a gap between the column and the ignition. The key will turn almost freely when it is in this position. It will turn on the accessory power so dash lights and the radio come on but the battery wont turn on despite it having charge.
I tried to put the old ignition cylinder back in and got the same result. Won't sit in fully and spins freely turning on accessory power. After trying to figure it out for a while, accessory power wont turn off regardless of if there's a cylinder in there or not and I had to unplug the battery.
Any information anyone has that can help would be greatly appreciated
