I need a camper shell for my 2004 Lariat supercab.
Having trouble finding them. ARES is starting to make
the Z series, but I'd like to get one that tapers above the cab for
more room. Any info would be appreciated.
I too, am not finding a topper available (5.5 bed), that I like... Though, I would like the cab high style. A.R.E. has one available but it perches on top of the plastic side rails and doesn't wrap to create a smooth finish leaving the rail caps exposed. Leer has one with the same characteristics I've been told (not seen it yet).
I would consider just about any mfg.! The following are ones found that I like so far:
Astro - LER
A.R.E. - Z
SNUGTop - Top Gun
Any help with availability time lines, from those that know, would be cool!
I have a Leer 100XL on order, due in tomorrow - Nov. 17. This is for the 5.5 ft bed on a Supercrew. At the time I ordered, A.R.E. was about three weeks away from having their molds ready, so they may be in production any day now. I liked the Leer better because of the overhead storage compartment option.
I've got the extendecab Lariat but the loading height should be the same. Can you give me the dimension from bed to hinges for
max loading size? Have to be able to load my duck hunting cart. I,m thinking about waiting for a hiliner but that could be Febuary.
Hey with the deeper bed 39 might do it. If you dont mind terribly could you give me the full height inside too?
The Leer XL looks a lot better than the above cab models.
You sold me. Gonna get Leer XL for my 6.5 bed. Headliner, clothes rack, screens for popout windows, swing out front slider,
and 2nd battery dome light. Will run about $2100 with tax and install AND a carpet kit for the bed. Hey it's only money!!
Anybody seen the 12-volt power box thats in the catalog??
If you're spending all that money on a Leer 100XL, you might want to look at a 100XLT also. I've got mine on my Ranger and like it a lot. Mine difference is in the window, the side window is one piece. When you open the window, the front and top is closed, and the bottom and back part of the window opens. This allows me to leave the windows open when it's raining (parked or driving) with no water inside. Comes with screens and looks much smoother (my opinion). The hinges on the rear window are inside too, much smoother looking also.
My Leer 100XLT has a fold down front sliding window, headliner, and clothes hanger. I like it!
