I'll tell ya, they're hard to find. My truck came with one and it's taken me 3-4 years to round up another 2. They're out there, you just need to keep an ear open for them
Since they were usually on work vehicles, a lot of them got trashed. Or, they sat around on peoples properties and got damaged or just rotted away.
If you were closer to WA I might have another almost complete one after I repair the one I have.

They are hard to find, and prices can vary widely. Lots of folks have gotten them between free and $50. I had to spend $300 for mine. I might be a sucker.
Jameson, what do you mean by "fix"? You don't have a source for parts for these things do you?

I've gotten all mine for free.
In terms of fixing, I figure I can make 1 topper (maybe 2) out of 3 with the parts I have from the others.
But you can still get *some* NOS parts. I think mainly gaskets. Talk to Numberdummy or Mike0o0o0o0o to locate some

All the parts are obsolete, no one has the compass emblems or any of the weatherstrips.
About 6 years ago, I was able to find one weatherstrip (03288 in pic) for the front glass for an FTE member.
When the fellow bought it, he complained that it had been rolled up then taped together and when he unwound it, it cracked. C'est la vie.
There are two types of these "pickup box covers" (camper shells). One type has fixed side windows. The other type has sliding side windows and a roof vent.
I'm trying to find a factory style fiberglass camper shell or topper for my 78 longbed overlanding project. Any info is appreciated!
My son's '79 F150 came with a color matching fiberglass sliding-windows camper shell. His truck is two-tone copper/tan, and the topper is tan to match. It's now sitting, unmolested and in great condition, on top of a stand he built specifically to match the dimensions of the topper. He added siding to the stand and the topper now serves as the roof of an actually attractive shed yielding lots of storage on shelves he buillt for it, also. The topper will never be back on the truck, I'm pretty sure.
He's in OKC. He might be amenable to working out a metal shed roof for topper trade, but the topper also lets in light so a substitute roof would need to have a skylight, too.
I had one of those at tone time but it got a big crack in it so it was junked. I kept the side glass and the front glass for it. I believe the front and back glass are the same. I am looking to sell them if you are interested. The side glass comes with seals. No seal for the front glass.

I'm in Edmond, I might be willing to work a trade. Any pics on what the shed looks like now? If it's topper sized, it's not real big. I'm picturing after the topper is removed, a clearstory sort of look with clear corrugated panels all the way around and a flat sloped rood with maybe a foot of overhang all the way around.
Hello....Did you end up checking with the guy in NY? Was he willing to sell? If not, it's been a couple years?
Chris Kennedy
The guy died last year. Was able to buy a 1989 LTD-CV from the wife. The son is being a real jerk about things. His mother would like him to leave but,........
With this Covid crap going around, I'm a bit leery about visiting.
