Just an update on reverse lighting options. I got an email from DD indicating they have a new reverse light consisting of a pair of surface mount reverse lights and a similar plug and play connection to the back of the hitch plug under the bumper. After some back and forth with tech support, DD indicated the challenge with some of our trucks was that the brake light feature of the hitch light messed with the truck's trailer detection system, and they are still working on sorting this out. The new reverse light kit is supposed to work without messing with the trailer detection, as it only has running lights and reverse lights, not brake lights. It attaches to the sides of the rear hitch area (under the bumper?) and has one p[od for each side. This means it will allow you to use the trailer hitch as a trailer hitch, a bonus for me. Hopefully this new light pair is the solution I have ben looking for.

Will do, DD isn't shipping these (pre-order) until April 21 so likely in a few weeks.

Can't do the BMC lights, I haul a truck camper and the tie downs run through the end of the hitch bar. Plus the DD lights are half the price, hopefully will be all I need.
